Richietwoteas hipped me to this coming out. If you are waking up on tuesday and reading this you can still get this absurdly huge game for $37 on the PSN. If you wait until after that, it's still only $50 despite being massive.

Let's do a Q+A with famousmortimer asking the Q's and pete dodd giving you the a.

Q. Is this the same Payday 2 that was on the PS3/360?
A. Ye...s? It's that game, plus all of patches/tweaks/dlc that the PC version got that the PS3/360 versions never got a sniff of. I bought it at launch on the ps3, because I'm an asshole and thought that my friends were too. I played it solo and with randoms. This is a much more advanced game than that. But now that I think about it... I bought this at launch because people here said they would get it. I may end up a lonely asshole once again.

Q. When I watch a stream it looks like you just protect a drill and restart it every once in a while.
A. Yep, that's pretty much the game. But things get fucked up quickly. And when it goes tits up you need to communicate who is going to handle what.

Q. Can I buy this safely knowing that I'll have people here to play with?
A. Nope. Wait until more post about having it and ask them when they are likely to play. I bought it because people who I don't even have crossover time for destiny bought it. Will I play with them? Hopefully, maybe.

Q. It seemed janky on last gen.
A. It feels Sliggggggghhhhhtly janky on this gen, but that goes away quick.

Q. You just asked a bunch of questions for people who know about the game, I don't, what should I expect?
A. A FPS about robbing shit. Robbing shit is slow early on as you suck at everything. But you get more skills, guns, mods, etc, as you keep playing. But as you get more devices to win, the missions get more intricate. It's not completely random, but you also can't go into a mid to late mission and know what's going to happen.

Q. PS4?
A. Of course.

Q. Is this game worth buying?
A. Yes, at $50 it's worth buying. At $37 there should be no hesitation.

Q. Starbreeze?
A. Starbreeze.

Q. How hard will your weird greenish penis get when you get a full group from here to play a multiday difficult heist?
A. The grinch that stole christmas style dick.

Having a lot of fun with this so far, the port is pretty good and is much better than the PS360 version.

There's a few of us playing UK evenings and at the weekends. If anybody else picks it up then let us know so we can get some heists in together.

Myself and BeardyBrave are starting to play with one other on a regular Monday night spot (about 9pm - 12am UK time). If you see us in a party and want to check if there is room feel free to join in. Not sure how that fits with your timezone and work Pete?

I have every other monday off. This coming one I don't (but that does mean I'm off fri-sat-sun this week, for anyone else).

I really love this game. I've only played with bots (meh) and randoms (surprisingly good... until you get 3 people running around like Call of Duty). I think playing this with a full group of friends could be orgasmic. Seriously. You will hear me have an orgasm in your speakers.

I'm in debate on getting this, I do have the same main problem that Pete lists in not knowing when/if I'll ever be on with other people who have it as well.

Weekends are usually decent for me, but with the rate WWE seems to be putting on special events, every other Sunday is down the drain. :oops: :lol:

I said that I'd post up some suggested builds for people that are new(ish) to the game. These are all level 100 builds, it assumes you'll take all the 'essential' skills first and then put all of your points into your primary skill tree.

Essential skills for increased speed and stamina with faster interaction for moving bags etc.
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mda:eDa:ghECda:::

Ghost, Mastermind and Technician builds that take the best skills from their tree and then take Enforcer to its top tier to unlock the heaviest body armour.

Ghost/Enforcer - A focus on ECMs for doors and general utility and lockpicking for safes and doors.
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mda:eqropklHIjEFgbDa:tda:gRNOLhjEFgCDa:::

Mastermind/Enforcer - All the MM pistol skills and medic/inspire skills.
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mrSOLIJEGBDa:eropklHIjEFgbDa:ghECda:::

Techforcer - Trips mines upgraded to shape charges and improved drilling skills. This build is maxed out for ammo bags, there's 8 skill points you could save off the aced version if you're mainly running with trip mines.
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mda:eqropkLHIjEFgbDa:tsOpmiJEGBCDa:ghEbCda:::

Here are some 'pure' builds which focus almost entirely on one tree.

Pure Tech - Trip mines upgraded to shape charges and maxed sentry guns.
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mDa:eDa:tQSNOpKLHJEGbCda:ghECda:::

Pure Mastermind
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mRSnOLmIJEFGBCDa:eeDa:tbda:ghECda:feGDa:::

Pure Enforcer
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mBDa:eqROpkLMHIjEFgcDa:tDa:ghECda:feGbDa:::

Pure Ghost
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mBDa:eDa:tDa:gqRNOPLhIjEfGCda:fiEfGcDa:::

Pure Fugitive
http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mgBDa:eIEgDa:tDa:ghECda:fQSNKMiJEfGcDa:::

RichieTwoTeas got any tips on getting a suppressor? Kind of vital to the stealth missions and locked behind the random prizes at the end of matches (as far as I am aware). Of course some people get them quite early on, *some* people are quite lucky, *some* people get a veritable smorgasbord of fucking suppressors in a single night's play! Eh BeardyBrave ... #NotBitterHonest ;-)

Best way is to keep running missions collecting packages will unlock Mods and then you have a chance on RNG when you pick a card at the end of a mission sadly no way to game the system.

That said there is only one job that is a fail if not stealth'ed so go loud until you get lucky.

Illyes_Evocati Thanks. The little package collectables - are they in set places or just a random appearance somewhere in the level? We've found one so far.

They tend to be dotted around the map but normally in the same few places. I have Rich to collect them so i have not really been paying to much attention.

According to rich, there are a set number of spawn locations. Not sure if that number is huge or not.

Yep best way to get a suppressor without playing the card lottery is from the Yellow Bull packages. Here's some extra stuff about where to find them. There are 2 packages on each normal day, 4 on hard, 6 on very hard and 8 on overkill.

On the bigger, longer missions its not worth actively hunting them, but the shorter missions are good places to farm them. For example Four Stores, Mallcrashers and Nightclub.

Edit: Its easy to run Four Stores and Mallcrashers on overkill difficulty even as a level 1 character.

Don't talk to me about the card lottery, still not got extended mag or shell rack for the Locomotive shotgun. Everyone I play with get them constantly and they mock me mercilessly about it too :(

I'm convinced they've implemented voice recognition. If you say "suppressor" you're gonna get a material instead. ;)
